Gridman Universe spoilers

    Yuuta and Utsumi and Rikka are in second year now. Utsumi and Rikka (and Namiko and Hassun) are classmates, while Yuuta alone is in a different class.

    Yuuta has heard about the Gridman stuff from them but doesn't actually remember anything. He's also in an awkward position because Rikka's now closer to him because of the events of the series but he doesn't remember anything.

    They're preparing for the school festival and Rikka and Utsumi's class is doing a play. Rikka and Utsumi are writing a script about Gridman but their classmates keep telling them to redo it. The part they have most problems with is the character of Akane whom they think is too unrealistic. Utsumi thinks they should dump Akane and just add more fights because he's THAT guy but Rikka says that the stuff about Akane is what she wants to do the most.

    Yuuta wants to confess to Rikka but overhears someone talking about how she has a college age boyfriend now and starts moping and zoning out. He gets hit in the face with a volleyball while zoning out once and he says he's fine and it doesn't hurt.

    Yuuta asks Rikka out to see a play with him but she says she has something to do that day and he ends up going with Utsumi instead.

    Before their date Utsumi gets Hibiki to watch a video of an Ultraman hero show with him. Hibiki is weirded out by how Utsumi is moved to tears by it. They go watch the artsy drama play where Utsumi is bored to death and weirded out by how Yuuta is moved to tears by it.

    On the way back they see Rikka entering an older guy's apartment and Yuuta gets very upset. Then Yuuta sees a ghost and freaks out.

The kaiju Dimorgan shows up out of nowhere and Yuuta starts hearing Gridman's voice, and he runs to the junk and transforms into Gridman to fight it. (When Yuuta sees Gridman for the first time before the Dimorgan fight he's in Denkouchoujin form but he transforms into Primal Fighter before combining with Yuuta because that's the form that Yuuta fits most.) The Assist Weapons show up too but instead of helping out they leave it to the new guy. Dynarex shows up and teams up with Gridman to defeat Dimorgan.

After the Dimorgan attack Gridman fixes everything with his fixer beam. Gridman says something fishy is going on and the Assist Weapons + Rex (Gauma) stay in Rikka's house to stay on the lookout for anything weird happening.

As for why the Dynazenon people showed up in this world, the Assist Weapons theorise that the multiverse is comprised of multiple universes but something is compressing them all together resulting in a big crunch that will destroy them all. Yuuta continues to see ghosts too.    

The next day Namiko and Hassun talk about how unrealistic kaiju are and it turns out that like before nobody remembers the kaiju attacks the next day. They like the idea of a fixer beam though, saying it makes for a nice world.

Rikka and Utsumi and Yuuta continue working on the play and Yuuta continues being haunted including having disembodied hands bang on the door while he's in the bath.

Yuuta is in the bath again when he hears noises coming from outside even though he's alone, and then someone opens the door and comes in. But instead of a ghost it's Koyomi who's confused because he thinks it's his house.

Utsumi runs into Chise at a batting center and Rikka overhears Yomogi and Yume talking about being lost in a restaurant and there's a short timeskip to all of the Dynazenon people gathered in Rikka's house. Yomogi has a very emotional moment with Gauma which is interrupted by Rikka's mother being weird. The Dynazenon people end up staying in Rikka's house too.

Koyomi and Gauma help Rikka's mother when she goes shopping and Gauma finds his princess selling crabs at a Hokkaido food fair. He gets very emotional and she sells him a crab. Thanks to her he remembers what the third thing is: Expiry dates.

Everyone else helps with the play. Utsumi and Rikka rewrite the script to add Dynazenon's story to it, and their classmates like it. Yuuta reads the script and finds that they ended up removing Akane from it which he doesn't feel okay with because Rikka said it's what she wanted to do the most.

Yuuta finally talks to Rikka about the boyfriend thing and finds out that it's her brother.

Yuuta starts to feel like something's wrong. He hears Rikka and Utsumi talk about being able to work harder on the play now that the exams are over, but he can't remember taking any exams. Alexis appears out of nowhere in Rikka's house introducing himself as her father, freaking Yuuta out, and Rikka laughs and says it's just cosplay. Yuuta starts running and falls down a flight of stairs. Yomogi sees and asks if he's okay but Yuuta says it doesn't hurt at all: He first noticed when the volleyball hit him in the face, but he can't feel pain at all. Suddenly two ghosts appear and Yomogi can see them too.

Suddenly Domgiran attacks and Yuuta goes to transform into Gridman to fight it. Full Power Gridman and Dynarex together can't beat it but then Gridknight combined with Goldburn and a giant battleship appear to help. Full Power Gridman and Kaiser Gridknight manage to defeat Domgiran, but then another Gridknight appears behind Full Power Gridman and stabs him through the chest. Full Power Gridman, Kaiser Gridknight, and Anosillus disappear, and so do Yume, Chise and Koyomi who were watching the junk and also the princess (who was still at the Hokkaido fair selling crab). Yuuta gets spit out and Yomogi walks into the store with shota Anti and loli Anosillus.

Anti says that Gridman is the cause of all the problems. Something is manipulating Gridman's combination powers to make him combine with all universes, forming the Gridman Universe, which is compressing all the universes together into Gridman. He had to get rid of Gridman and the others who don't belong in this world to keep it stable. Also the ghosts were Anti and Anosillus all along and the banging was Anti trying to break through to talk to Yuuta. Anti noticed that Yuuta knew something was wrong with this world (because of the volleyball incident) and finally managed to get through to him and Yomogi after Yuuta fell down the stairs, and the two of them knew about all this in advance.

A bunch of Noirdogma attack and Anti transforms into Gridknight to pick up the humans and escape. He also transforms into the Anti kaiju form to fly away but there's too many of them and they can't get away.

While escaping Anti says that one way to fix everything is for Yuuta to Access Flash again to do some shit with Gridman that I can't remember but doing so will result in him sacrificng his consciousness meaning he will no longer be himself anymore, but he says he'll do it and runs off.

Yuuta runs too hard and collapses but a guy on a bike that Twitter is telling me is the tokusatsu series protagonist gives him a ride to the store. The store is closed but the mysterious college student is there and Yuuta gets him to let him in, and he does an access flash but instead of anything happening it's a cut to black.

Yuuta is confused but then he sees a hole with an eye (live action) peering through and hears a voice speak to him. The voice explains some needlessly complex nonsense and says it'll help. Though he doesn't remember her, Yuuta realises that it's Akane and asks if she's helping because she's their god. She says she's just doing it for her friend.

In live action world Akane does an instance domination towards an old junk PC.

Anime Akane gets a Mujina-type costume and sets Alexis free. Alexis is talkative and cooperative and in jolly uncle mode and takes on a new white generic trigger man form and flies towards the Gridman Universe©, which is a bunch of universes in the shape of Gridman. He finds the true villain, the collective concept of kaiju born from humans creating kaiju (Akane says oops she contributed to that too), which takes the form of some generic ass boring looking random kaiju, and beats on it and sends it flying towards the SSSS Gridman world.

Meanwhile Yuuta talks to Gridman in that weird cyberspace place you also see at the end of SSSS Gridman and Gridman admits that he felt guilty for having used Yuuta's body and the villain must have made use of him. Yuuta says he doesn't care and is in fact thankful and shit and they combine and Gridman powers up into the new Universe Fighter form.

Gridman shows up to protect Anti (back in shota form after getting banged up by the Noirdogma army) and Rikka, Utsumi, Anosillus and Yomogi. Alexis and the villain arrive too and Gridman and Alexis team up against him and the Noirdogma army.

Akane is shown like she's piloting Alexis but Alexis also keeps blabbing on as he always does.

Alexis uses instance abreaction on Gridman, which results in Dynazenon and Goldburn and the Assist Weapons and Gauma, Yume, Koyomi and Chise popping out. Yomogi jumps into Dynazenon and Anti and Anosillus synch with Dynazenon to return to their SSSS Dynazenon forms, and Anti transforms into Gridknight while Anosillus takes off her clothes to reveal that she's wearing a compoid costume underneath and does an Ultraman grow bigger thing and summons the battleship which transforms into a robot suit which she wears. Utsumi and Rikka get into Anosillus.

Goldburn transforms into a new upgraded form with no explanation.

Gridman combines with Dynazenon and Goldburn and Gridknight combines with the Assist Weapons. The villain attacks Gridman while he's combining with Dynazenon and Goldburn and he fights while combining.

Gridman, Gridknight and Alexis/Akane team up to defeat the villain

They seemingly defeat the villain and stand there but then it reappears behind them and eats Alexis and gets a new form which is now indestructible because Alexis is indestructible

Gridman figures that even if it's indestructible they can destroy it anyway by destroying and rebuilding it over and over again by hitting it with all their firepower and the fixer beam at the same time and so Gridman combined with Goldburn fires the Fixer Beam while Full Power Gridknight standing on top of Dynazenon and also Anosillus who was supposedly participating but did literally nothing up to this point shoot it.

The combined villain is destroyed and rebuilt over and over again and the degradation from this process reduces it to nothing because that makes total sense (the movie explains it as erasing and redrawing something on paper over and over again, with the eraser eventually damaging the paper to the point that it tears)

After the villain is destroyed Alexis reappears. He says that he wish he'd known what it was like to have a limited mortal life like this and maybe he could have been different if he had, and crumbles away. It looks like he's dead but the Assist Weapons say he's immortal and totally faking it, they'll go after him and seal him away again.

Akane appears in front of Knight and apologizes for how she treated him, but he says that he's grateful to her for giving him life. Utsumi says to Rikka that he thought she'd have things to say to Akane, but Rikka says that if she talked to her everything she wants to say might come out, so she doesn't. Akane vanishes and it cuts back to the real world where three of her friends come looking for her.

Everyone goes back to their own worlds. Yuuta, Utsumi and Rikka say goodbye to Gridman and the Assist Weapons on the hill from the original live action series but this time it's "see you again". Gridman learned to rely on people more and will ask them for help if he needs it, and he leaves Primal Acceptor for Yuuta this time.

Yomogi, Yume, Koyomi and Chise hitch a ride back on Anosillus' ship and Gauma sees them off on Dynarex. Gauma gives Yomogi the fancy crab he bought from the princess saying it's for his family because of the stuff in the show. Yomogi also asks if Gauma remembered what the third thing was and he says it's expiry dates. Yume seems interested in the crab and Yomogi asks if she wants some, basically saying he wants to introduce her to his parents, and she turns red. Anosillus and the team vanish but the receipt for the crab drops from the sky and Gauma picks it up and finds that the princess left a message for him on the back, "get over it already dumbass"

Yuuta, Rikka, and Utsumi go back to their everyday life. Rikka says she wants to rewrite the script for the play again.

The school festival comes and the Gridman play is a huge success. Rikka ended up putting the Akane stuff back in but it looks like nobody got what she wanted to convey with it because they were too busy laughing at Utsumi and bumbling around in a Gridman suit.

Yuuta tells Rikka he likes her and she says she likes him too. Roll credits.

Post credits is Yomogi's family and Yume eating crab. Yomogi asks his mother how it is and she says it's okay.
