Eva 2.0 director interview

Backed up here because Pastebin is randomly deleting my pastebins for no reason:     Source: Eva 2.0 movie pamphlet Original thread: https://archive.moe/m/thread/11768560   >I got my hands on the 2.0 theatre booklet the other day and there's an interesting interview that says that when they were making the TV series Anno and the staff had totally different interpretations of the story and characters; Anno himself says that when Shinji says he doesn't want to pilot anymore he actually means it, while in the actual show the staff animated it the opposite way; When he leaves in episode 19 you see him at the train station at Hakone, and then when you see him again he's in a shelter at the geofront; The train station is literally an entire fucking mountain away, but he ended up going back all the way to the shelter because, according to the staff (names were named but I can't recall who at the moment), they interpreted it as Shinji not really meaning it, like a kid i...

Madoka movie 3 pamphlet interview stuff

Backed up here because Pastebin is randomly deleting my pastebins for no reason:     Madoka movie 3 pamphlet interview stuff   SHINBOU "I originally wanted to name the first movie 'Revenge of the Incubators'" He touches on how people thought since the whole ring thing was only ever mentioned by Mami, everyone thought it was her being stupid again. "If we can have it (Madoka Magica) continue, I'd like to see that happen."   UROBUCHI "While the show was still airing Iwagami approached me and asked what I thought about doing a sequel. I just laughed it off and didn't take it seriously but he repeated it several times and I eventually realised he was serious." They came up with the idea for a sequel through brainstorming sessions, and this idea of it taking place inside Homura's soul gem as she starts to become a witch was the first idea they came up with. The big plot twist WASN'T Urobuchi's idea, he was going to have Madoka just...

Himiko Yamato and other cancelled Tomino projects

Backed up here because Pastebin is randomly deleting my pastebins for no reason: >Himiko Yamato   New Tomino series, seemingly not approved yet but he's been saying that he definitely wants to do it. Has been talking about it more in interviews lately such as the Dunbine special in Great Mechanics.   "Not a robot series" "but robot-like things might appear"   Based on an old cancelled project also called Himiko Yamato (old version's title was in kanji = 卑弥呼大和, new version is katakana = ヒミコヤマト). The old project was a collaboration between him, Fukui Harutoshi and Kadokawa Haruki, and the three have gone on to say that it influenced Wings of Rean, Fukui's Lorelei, and Kadokawa's Yamato. Tomino was the one to come up with the idea and Fukui has described it as "something primally Japanese like Himiko possessing the battleship Yamato and coming to reprimand modern Tokyo".   In one interview before he started mentioning Himiko Yamato by na...

G-Reco stuff

Those dumbfucks at pastebin deleted the pastebin because "This paste has been deemed potentially harmful. Pastebin took the necessary steps to prevent access on February 8, 2024" so backed up here:    Source: Voice from Type Moon Relations / Urobuchi Gen no Yaritaizakari, Comptique (August 2015) zoukan, Type-Moon Ace Vol. 10 コンプティーク 2015年8月号 増刊 TYPE‐MOONエースVOL.10 ASIN: B00YWYL8F6 A story is a method with which one separates things into good and evil via their imagination. It is a system needed for people to keep themselves sane and deal with the unreasoning chaos of reality. Religion offers the story of salvation, for example. Likewise, morals and ethics could be defined as the most popular story of the people of the age. But while these stories are harmless as long as they're used to keep individuals calm, this changes when they're used as tools for a country or race. Stories like "jews are an inferior race that have to be purged" and "capi...

Rahxephon explained

The Mulian world MU and Earth are parallel worlds overlapping that will eventually destroy each other. This is a natural phenomenon. Renegade Mulian scientist Barbem made the Xephon System which consists of two robots, Rahxephon and Belxephon. The system can rewrite the clashing worlds into one, saving it from destruction, and activates through a ritual in which the two robots fight, and the winner's Ollin (pilot) decides what the resulting world will be like subconsciously. This is the tuning. Ayato is Rahxephon's Ollin, while Kuon (his biological mother) is Belxephon's. The stuff about them and Itsuki should be clear enough from the show. Yoloteotl is the state of the Ollin becoming worthy of the Xephon and enabling it to participate in the ritual. The Ixtli are manifestations of the Xephons' will (never seen in the show, but Belxephon/Kuon's Ixtli takes on Ayato's form). The two factions, Earth and MU, think that the tuning results in one world surviving and...

Gridman Universe spoilers

m/thread/21563513     Yuuta and Utsumi and Rikka are in second year now. Utsumi and Rikka (and Namiko and Hassun) are classmates, while Yuuta alone is in a different class.     Yuuta has heard about the Gridman stuff from them but doesn't actually remember anything. He's also in an awkward position because Rikka's now closer to him because of the events of the series but he doesn't remember anything.     They're preparing for the school festival and Rikka and Utsumi's class is doing a play. Rikka and Utsumi are writing a script about Gridman but their classmates keep telling them to redo it. The part they have most problems with is the character of Akane whom they think is too unrealistic. Utsumi thinks they should dump Akane and just add more fights because he's THAT guy but Rikka says that the stuff about Akane is what she wants to do the most.     Yuuta wants to confess to Rikka but overhears someone talking about how ...

Kidou Senshi Gundam Daizenshuu (1991) - Gundam ZZ

Source: Kidou Senshi Gundam Daizenshuu (機動戦士ガンダム大全集) Published 1991/03 by Kodansha (Terebi Magazine) ISBN-10: 4061784129 ISBN-13: 978-4061784123 http://bookclub.kodansha.co.jp/product?isbn=9784061784123 Not full translation "Char Was Supposed To Appear in ZZ" "The project for Gundam ZZ was started as a direct continuation of Z Gundam, and the story first thought of could be said to be the exact opposite of what was ultimately aired." "To the left is the initial proposal, and as you can see there are large differences, such as with Emma Sheen who died at the end of Z Gundam had survived and was instead going to die here. But the biggest difference was that Char was going to appear. He was going to switch sides to Haman Karn, and attack the Argama that he was a member of just a while ago. " "The story in this proposal is a lot darker than what was broadcast" "Though (Char) is an enemy of the protagonists, in t...

Gundam: Are the Zabis royalty?

Q: In Gundam UC, Minerva is referred to as a princess, but Zeon was a principality (or duchy, depending on the translation). What gives? A: Duchy/Principality of Zeon is a mistranslation. There is no real translation. In real life 公国/ koukoku means duchy/principality, yes, but this is because in real life the 公/ kou comes from 公爵/ koushaku = duke (principality comes from how in French a prince is also a duke, hence Monaco is a koukoku ). In Gundam, however, Degwin is NOT a duke, but a " kouou " (公王). This title is completely made up . The 公/ kou in 公国/ koukoku comes from this made-up word, and thus it is NOT a duchy/principality. Since there is no real translation for kouou , there is thus also no real translation for koukoku . The " ou " (王) in kouou (公王), however, means "king", which makes it clear that yes, he is indeed royalty. So there's nothing wrong with referring to Minerva as a princess. Furthermore, in Japanese, she's never...

Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack (1)

Dug up my copy of the official US release of CCA, figured I might as well give the subtitles a look. Not watching the movie in its entirety at this point, just jumping to memorable parts. 「なんでこんなものを地球に落とす?」 Literal translation:  "Why would you drop such a thing on Earth?" "Crashing this to Earth"... I don't know, since when did you crash things to others? And where's the question mark? 「だから抹殺すると宣言した」 "That's why I declared that I would kill them all."  Yes this openly contradicts the stuff from later on where he says his goal is to get people to move into space but that's what it says. And minor and inconsequential change, but "declared" becomes "decided". 「人が人に罰を与えるなどと!」 Another minor change- Amuro says that people (in general) don't have the right to punish others. 「私、シャア・アズナブルが粛清しようというのだ、アムロ!」 And then this . "I, Char Aznable, will purge them, Amuro!" becomes this load of...
