Strike Frontier heroines
Shirakawa Minori: Main character's childhood friend and classmate. Gets along with other heroines, group chats with them on a "message app" (LINE?). Didn't belong to any club but learned kyudo at the Tamase kyudojo. Second dan. Impressed with how the kyudo instructor there is a calm adult womanly woman and this is of course referring to 2016 Tama. Favourite colour is pink, likes cats. Kind of tsundere, likes main character.
Oosawa Rinka: Classmate of MC and Minori. Childhood friend of Daijuuji Iyo. Parents work for the Mitsurugi zaibatsu, and she admires Meiya.
Hoozuki Akaru: Semi-hikikomori gamer. Admires the greatest netgamer in the Kanto region, "KEI". Wears a pillow as a hat so that she can sleep anywhere/anytime.
Daikuuji Iyo: Related to the Daikuuji clan. Weird name is because she was named by Ayu. Ayu is now a successful global businesswoman. The Daikuuji group is run by Ayu's brother Gaiou. Iyo admires Ayu. Favourite colour is gold.
Takamori Misaki: Classmate. Likes teamwork and exercise, hates thinking. Was a troublemaker in middle school, where her form teacher was Chizuru, who is still a middle school teacher as of 2016. Favourite colour is orange.

LD11 Strike Frontier: Interview with Tashiro Hayato on Strike Frontier
Tashiro's role in working with DMM is overseeing that SF doesn't "break the setting" of Muv-Luv (ie- put in stupid shit that's out of place). He did the same on Next Answer so apparently dead people dressing up in skimpy idol outfits is not out of place in Muv-Luv Alternative. He's also in charge of the main scenario and some of the character scenario scripts.
The main goal of the main scenario is to expand the world they've already built. This will show old fans new possibilities, and also help introduce the world to new people (using DMM as a platform is also to get more new users). The story is similar but different to Alternative. The player character AND the main five heroines are from our world's 2016. Takeru and the usual people are still in the Alternative world so we meet them there. Each main scenario chapter consists of five episodes, episodes are unlocked through fulfilling conditions like "defeat this many BETA".
Having these new characters have links to the grown up 2016 versions of the old characters is part of how they're expanding the world. Minori's link to Tama is because he wanted Minori to do kyudo, which emphasises strength deep down. Old fans should remember Meiya complaining about Takeru using Sky Temple, and that the Mitsurugi zaibatsu's food business was mentioned as being bad then. Rinka's parents are in charge of the Mitsurugi food business. There's a branch opposite Sky Temple. The food business is named Yuumei-an (yuu and mei are of course from Yuuhi and Meiya).
Daikuuji being involved is because Tashiro wanted to do it. Iyo's name is not just Ayu's shifted one character down on the kana chart- Ayu is also Himiko, leader of the Sakimori. The name Himiko comes from that of the queen of the Yama-taikoku and her successor was named Iyo.
Misaki and Akaru are the last characters to show up. They wanted to make them stand out more, and so Misaki wears an outer over her BDU and Akaru gets the pillow-hat. The characters all brought some stuff like smartphones and wallets with them from their world, but this can't really be shown through the art, and they wanted something that could be shown through the art, thus pillow-hat.
Regular and R-18 versions share data so users can play both versions with the same stuff. Only difference is the character scenarios. Each character has five chapters in each version.
It's undetermined if the stuff in
Alternative will happen in SF. However Takeru IS Alternative Takeru
who's been through Unlimited. He tries not to change history too much
but the main character and the heroines are already a massive change.
Since this is a social game, they'll be able to change the story based
on the reactions of the users, too. They want to balance "new
possibilities" and "introducing Alternative". Tashiro already has
several ideas, but isn't sure if he'll be able to use them. One thing is
concrete so far: Tama's dad does show up, as Yuuko decides that they
shouldn't stop the HSST incident, though for different reasons compared
to Alternative.

exogularity 01
Kasumi- The Tuned (調律種) refer to people like her and Inia. Her telomere were engineered to keep her young so as to maximise her powers, and thus looks roughly three years older from when she met Takeru. At that time she had an artificial personality formed from the memory data she read off Sumika's brain but communication with Takeru and 00 Sumika led her to losing that and getting her own. After the events of Alternative she worked towards unifying mankind and her efforts got recognised which resulted in her becoming the first commissioner of United Mankind. Yoshimune says that the instructions for her aged design were "like Ruri in the Nadesico movie".
Inia- Has the ability to see the future. Also engineered to stay young to begin with. Joined up with the Alternative 4 project after the events of TE and remained with Kasumi ever since.
Yuuko- Lost in a political struggle about the Eurasian hive management within the UN and was imprisoned after the Alternative 4 Project concluded. Several weeks later she was freed by a group supporting her and went underground, and became internationally wanted for treason against mankind. She was involved in multiple civil wars but ultimately secretly contributed to the peace meeting between the representatives of all types of humans. She was given treatment to stop aging when aiding non-Naturals (自然種) and so still looks around 30.
The types of humans are
-Naturals (自然種)- Regular humans
-Tuned (調律種)- ESPers
-Artificials (人造種)- 00 Units
-Synthesised (合成種)- "BETAbrids" (BETA hybrids?)
-etc. (suggesting that there might be more than these)
The image boards from pages 16-23 were given to the Alternative manga guy to help him illustrate the stuff Kasumi was talking about in her speech.
Operation Hope Diamond- Yoshimune refrains from discussing much because "lethal spoilers". The leaders of a certain faction carried out a large operation to stop the machinations of another faction. The image board has two types of space-capable 4th generation senjutsuki with new equipment.
Me101P Fenrir- A 4th gen developed in secret by a certain faction using all the information from a certain project which they obtained secretly from another faction. Can handle 1-0 G environments.
XF-2000a Typhon- A real 4th gen made by taking the tech gained from a certain senjutsuki using all the data from a certain project and using it on another certain base senjutsuki with the premise of use in 1-0 G environments. Later mass produced by the UN.
Both have new swords, space flight units, and high output particle cannons.
Moon War II- The old immigrant ships were modified to be used as projectiles in kinetic bombardments against the moon. Typhons were mass-produced by this point.
Operation Olympus- Dozens and hundreds of G-17b Hercules-class Space Bombardment Fortresses (the latest Susanoo model) bombarding Mars.
"Abandoned One's Revenge"- A group of those who were destroyed for their faith when they fulfilled their duty as insurance in the wake of a certain incident used the BETA in a plan to wipe out mankind for revenge.
"Heartless One's Strike Back"- Taking advantage of the results of a certain large event, a group wanting to regain lost standing uses the results of their secret research, a corps of BETA senjutsuki, to plunge humanity into chaos.
BETA senjutsuki: "Senjutsuki using BETA, or senjutsuki-type BETA? They use regular senjutsuki weapons though."
Elpis-class jump-capable space mothership- 8800m, mankind's largest battle-ready jump-capable starship. Basically a warping self-sustaining war-ready city-state. Capable of jumping on its own without a catapult, though catapults are necessary for fulfilling missions in deep space like in other galaxies within a realistic timespan. Has large-scale self-sustaining life support functions which means that even with its entire crew of several dozen thousands is awake it can still function as a generation ship.
Phase space transport catapult Fomalhaut- Labelled as a "Gate" in the last chapter of the comic to simplify things for readers. Actually a long range jump catapult using the results of research on element G. Does not require a gate on the other side. Though this sounds like it being a one-way trip, ships can construct modular catapults on the other side to come back. Catapults have authorisation processes and self-destruct mechanisms to prevent use by enemies.
Sirius-class jump-capable starship- 2880m. Has high capabilities in battle, exploration and life support, and a single ship is said to be equal to two companies (24) of Hercules-classes in terms of assault power. 24 of these ships escort the envoy fleet to the Siliconian home planet.
Jumps are not affected by any physical phonemena which means no time dilation and "no coming back to earth to find a message written on it with one character the wrong way" -Yoshimune
F-47 Ishkur: 8th generation senjutsuki, developed for use in the envoy fleet. 7th generation senjutsuki were defined by G Generators that could keep them running for ten years without refueling, particle cannons, and rutherford fields that could hold back a fort laser class laser fired at full power for 15 minutes. Development went stagnant for a time after the first 7th gen was introduced in 2031 but numerous civil wars had the various factions try for peace resulting in United Mankind forming in 2043, and the project to contact the Siliconians and development on the 8th gen began the year after. Three years later and the 8th gen was capable of 0-3 G environments, and had extreme long range particle cannons, fully self-sustaining life support, and movement by gravity control and short range warps making them capable of independent interstellar expansion. Yoshimune says that since these are for space use they'll probably be called something else since "surface" no longer applies, and also that they look like "MH-ish" (referring to FSS) and are in "the territory of super robots".
No details on the new characters, only
comments regarding the designs. No explanation at all regarding the
storyboards with a fight involving senjutsuki BETA.
===================================
The story of the rest of Strike Frontier that didn't happen from Exogularity 02
Operation Cherry Blossom happens as usual but with Kouzuki Yuuko as the 00 Unit. Through the dialogue with her, Target A finds out about the existence of parallel worlds. Yuuko realises that she might have just endangered the entire multiverse and has the Susanoo open fire but as soon as the cannon goes off, "something" happens.
The main character and pals wake up to find themselves back in 2016. At first they're relieved but then a woman appears before them- It's Yuuki Yuuko who had been sent to 2002 in their world. She tells them that at the same time as her appearance in this world, in 2002, giant coccoons now known as the Megalith also materialized in multiple spots around the world. The Daikuuji group believed her story and developed TSFs and put pressure on the government to make a squad for them in the SDF.
The return of the protagonists to this world in 2016 triggers the awakening of the coccoons and BETA emerging from them.
Thus begins Strike Frontier season 2, Backflow and Collapse.
Everyone except the protagonist and Minori (initially at least) loses their memories of the Alternative world.
Tashiro Hayato says that BETA invading the regular world was something they wanted to do from the very beginning- Their equivalent of the Aura Battlers showing up in Tokyo in Dunbine. He says that part 1's story being about saving everyone in Alternative was a way to set up the story for part 2's plot twist. Of course saving everyone was also something they wanted to do, but having a yin-yang balance is part of Age's identity at this point.
He says that it's unfortunate that they weren't able to make this happen and that he hopes that they'll be able to release it in some form someday, though it won't be in the same form as this. While it wasn't the case in part 1, part 2's story was to be linked very closely to the game's system. They do intend on doing something with the story and characters eventually.
The book also has the entire script to the
first chapter of part 2's prologue, pictures of the 2016's world TSFs,
and a bunch of sketches of the original Muv-Luv's characters in Extra
clothes with no further explanation (also Haruka, Mitsuki and young
Akane)
